Easter Egg Hunts

Although it doesn’t much feel like it .. SPRING IS in the air and Easter is 2 weekends away. Here are a few of the egg hunts scheduled for 3/24 in Southern Indiana! List compiled courtesy of News Tribune:


Hippety-hop to a slew of Easter Egg hunts around Southern Indiana over the next several days.


The Jeffersonville Optimist Club and Friends of the Community will sponsor a joint Eggstravaganza for all ages, at noon, Saturday, March 24, at the Jeffersonville Optimist Club, 61 Louise St., Jeffersonville.

The event will include an egg hunt, face-painting and snacks. The Junior Optimist Club from Jeffersonville High School will assist.

All are welcome.

Vissing Park

Kelly Services presents Jeffersonville’s Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt, from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Richard L. Vissing Park, 2728 Vissing Park Road, Jeffersonville.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt puts a new spin on the traditional hunt. When the park is dark, your flashlight will be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes! Over 12,000 eggs, inflatables, face painting and more make for a great family event.

SELLERSBURG – American Legion

The Sons of The American Legion, Wilbur M. Ruby Post 204, Sellersburg, will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt, at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24. The hunt will start at noon when the tornado practice siren starts. The American Legion Auxiliary will provide punch and cookies.

All children 15 years of age and under are invited to participate and public is invited to attend. Bring the kids out for a fun day and get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

CLARKSVILLE – Howard Park Christian Church

Howard Park Christian Church, 450 W. Norwood Ave., Clarksville, is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for toddlers through fifth grade at noon on March 31. There will be a light lunch served afterward for children and their families. All are welcome.

First Southern Baptist Church

First Southern Baptist Church, 215 East Ettels Lane, Clarksville, will sponsor a Children’s Easter Event, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the church, located next to Clarksville Middle School. The event, for ages one through sixth grade, will include a Bible story, egg hunt, crafts, snacks and more.

Clarksville Parks Department

Clarksville Parks Department’s Easter Egg Hunt is 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31, at Gateway Park, 500 Little League Blvd., Clarksville. Kids ages 1 to 12 will be divided into age groups and given the chance to hunt thousands of candy filled eggs. After the event stick around and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Registration is not required and the event is free.

FLOYD COUNTY – New Albany Parks & Recreation

The New Albany Parks and Recreation invites children ages 7 and under to its egg hunt beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Silver Street Park, 2034 Silver St., New Albany. This year, the fun begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. The first 200 children will receive a basket to collect eggs and candy. Music, inflatables and prizes are planned throughout the event. The Easter Bunny will assist tots as needed so parents are encouraged to bring cameras for photos. All attendees are eligible for prize drawings at the conclusion of the hunt.

In the event of heavy rain, the event will be held indoor on the turf. For additional information, call the City Parks Department main office at 812-948-5361.

Crossing Christian Church

Crossing Christian Church, 9265 U.S. 150, Greenville, is hosting the “Big Event” on Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The “Big Event” is a family event featuring a special visit from the Easter Bunny for pictures, an egg hunt at noon and other games and activities for the kids. Parents will also enjoy live entertainment and food. The activities will take place on the front lawn of the church. Other activities include inflatables, face painting and door prizes. All activities are free and open to the community.

Indian Creek Baptist Church

Indian Creek Baptist Church, 3463 Georgetown-Greenville Road, Georgetown, is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt, from 2 to 4 p.m., March 24, at the church. If you are looking for a fun time, rain or shine, and are 12 years old or younger enjoy an egg hunt, a magic show, live music and pictures with the Easter Bunny. There will also be prizes given away.
